-Prevent Salt Damage-
Salt used on your driveway and sidewalk in the winter can have damaging effects on your trees. There are a few things you can do to reduce salt damage. Use coarse sand instead of salt to make these areas less slippery. Sand can be reused and will not absorb into the soil. Keep your trees and shrubs healthy. Healthy plants have a better chance of withstanding salt spray and salt accumulation. Place trees that are salt-tolerant near roadways and walkways. Trees that do not do well with salt should be planted away from areas where salt is used. For more information on this subject contact Peter at info@solidtreecare.com.
